10 Indies Are Shipping on GTA 6 Release Day, Part 1
GTA 6 arrives November 19, and 31 Steam games are arriving with it. Meet the first 10 indies holding their ground, from undead armies to a calm fishing trip.

GTA 6 arrives November 19, and the rest of the industry has spent the year getting out of its way. Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Lords of the Fallen 2 both slid to 2027. Yet Steam's own calendar tells a different story. Current store data shows 31 games set to launch on November 19 itself, and the week of November 16 to 22 is packed with 66 releases. Almost all of them are small, niche, and completely unbothered.
The quiet logic is simple. GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, which leaves PC players with a gap on day one. That gap is exactly where these games are standing. Here are the first 10 worth knowing, in part one of our rundown.
Two indies with real momentum
Lord of Undead is the day's biggest Steam name after GTA 6 itself. This open world dark fantasy RPG casts you as the Undead King, raising an army of skeletons and zombies and rolling over peaceful villages. Its stated goal is to defeat peace and innocence, which is certainly one way to counterprogram. It holds the most follows of any November 19 Steam release at over 2,600, supports Japanese, and is recruiting playtesters now. Steam page
Parry Survivor is the entry that already has a story. In China it goes by Zhi Kun, and it turns one of the Chinese internet's most beloved memes into a hardcore action game. You command anime girls fighting the "Kun tide," waves of enemies defined by center-parted hair, suspenders, and basketballs flying everywhere. Combat is Sekiro-style perfect parries into flashy executions, wrapped in roguelite runs. Developer Seal showed a demo at Steam Next Fest, and the game carries over 2,000 follows into launch. The meme may not translate, but "parry a basketball" does. Steam page
The ones staring back at Rockstar
Devolver Digital's mystery game. The indie publisher behind Cult of the Lamb and My Friend Pedro announced it would ship a game on GTA 6's release day, and every time Rockstar delayed, Devolver posted the same message: "You can't escape us." The game itself is still unannounced, which makes this the day's most entertaining staring contest.
Phantom Vice Auto isn't pretending. The crime game follows three outlaws through gang warfare, and its hero's swagger and trailer styling are openly GTA-inspired. It was originally dated May 26, 2026, the very day GTA 6 was first supposed to launch, and it now lands squarely on November 19. The read from watchers: it is courting the PC players who cannot touch GTA 6 on day one. Steam page
Cozy, creepy, and quietly confident
Cute Country is the day's softest counterpoint: a cozy town builder its Steam page describes as a super cute, healing single-player sim, carrying over 700 follows. Steam page
About Fishing leans into the same calm, a quiet fishing game landing against the loudest release of the decade. Steam page
Sokobomb brings warehouse puzzling energy, a sokoban-style brain teaser for anyone whose brain will be fried by November. Steam page
Flick takes the opposite route: psychological horror, for players who want their November 19 tense instead of massive.
Here for a good time
Man Simulator is the day's purest comedy entry. You play a lazy middle-aged man who mows the lawn, fishes, hammers nails, chops wood, grills, and drinks beer. It has nine follows. We salute it anyway. Steam page
Sumikko Gurashi rounds out our ten on Switch 2, where a new entry in the beloved Sumikko series opens a hot spring inn on the same day GTA 6 opens its version of Vice City. The contrast is the whole joke.
This is half the story. Part two covers more of the 31, and the wider week still holds dozens more. However your November 19 shakes out, the indies decided long ago: they are not moving.
