GTA 6 Leaker Sends Fans to Rockstar's Front Door
A GTA 6 leaker is asking fans to turn up outside Rockstar's offices, and one already has. Here is who is actually inside that building right now.
The leaker posting Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) footage under the name Cyberleek has started asking for something other than clicks. Text stamped on their latest clip called for "at least 10 gamers" to "show up dressed as leeks in front of Take2/Rock offices holding game discs during working hours," a protest against the game shipping without a disc. On August 24, at least one person did it: a man filmed himself outside Rockstar North in Edinburgh, held up a leek, shouted for more leaks, and bit into it.
The video is funny in the way a man eating a raw vegetable outside a building is always a little funny. The instruction that sent him there is not. "During working hours" is not a message to a company. It is a message to whoever is walking in at 9 a.m.
Who is inside that building
Rockstar North's Edinburgh office is two weeks out from one of the biggest labor cases the games industry has had. Rockstar dismissed 31 UK workers and three in Canada in October 2025, saying they leaked confidential information in a Discord channel. The Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB) says the workers were organizing in private, legally protected union channels, and is bringing unfair dismissal and blacklisting claims. A tribunal refused Rockstar's attempt to strike the blacklisting claims, and the trial runs September 10 to October 15, 2026, in Glasgow.
The fired workers have already told players what helps them, and it is not this. In a video posted on August 18, they asked fans not to boycott GTA 6 and to back the legal fund instead: "We spent years pouring our hard work, skill, and creativity into making GTA, and we want people to experience the universe that we helped build." A crowd outside the door does nothing for that case. It only makes the walk to work worse for the staff still on the payroll, more than 200 of whom signed a letter backing their fired colleagues.
The disc argument is at the wrong address
The complaint underneath the leek is real, and we have written about it: the only physical GTA 6 edition you can pre-order is a download code in a box, with nothing to shelve, lend, or resell. But nobody walking into that Edinburgh office picked the format.
If owning games as objects matters to you, the fix is a purchase, not a protest. Physical media in 2026 lives with the small labels: Limited Run Games and iam8bit still press indie and small-studio games onto discs and cartridges, and a copy you buy there is one you keep. A $30 vote at that counter travels further than 10 people in costume.
What you can do instead
Support the workers directly: the IWGB legal fund and merch, which the fired workers asked for themselves
Buy physical where it still exists: Limited Run Games, iam8bit
Don't spread the footage: reposting it builds a stranger's leverage, not yours
Don't go to anyone's office: whatever you think of Rockstar, the people at the door are workers
We have no interest in scolding the man with the leek. He is one person doing a bit. The ask that sent him there is the problem: it turns a real argument about ownership into foot traffic outside a workplace, two weeks before the people inside it have to sit in a tribunal. If you want to back the people who made GTA 6, they have already said where to go, and it is not a doorstep.
